LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT:

Yearbooks

Yearbooks can now be purchased via the Lifetouch website for $30. ybpay.lifetouch.ca ~ yearbook code: 14708324
Grade 9 students: regarding your yearbook write-ups. If you have NOT filled out the Google Form to create the writeup for the yearbook, please do so before Friday. Mme. Kelly has sent all of the students without write-ups an email with the link to the Google Form.
If you do not fill it out before Friday, your writeup will be blank.
If you have any questions please go see Mme. Kelly in room 237 after school.
Attention grade 9: If you have not sent a baby photo to Ms Little for the yearbook, there are 5 spots left. Please forward ASAP.


FLAG FOOTBALL

Girls practice today at lunch in the gym. Boys practice after school here at Astral.
The gym will be closed at lunch for intramurals today.

Library Club
The last day for submitting your poem for the annual poetry competition is tomorrow at lunch time.  Make sure you submit your piece to Ms. Demers ASAP for a chance to win the prize.  Voting starts Friday!

Volleyball Tournament
There will be a volleyball tournament held in the gym on April 29, 30, May 2nd & 3rd.  See the sign-up sheet by the gym for more information.

Best Buddies
Best Buddies will meet Thursday at lunch in the learning centre.

Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls Awareness Day
May 5th is National MMIWG Awareness Day. There is a bulletin board display dedicated to this crisis upstairs by Ms.Campbells room. Please take a moment to read some of the information when you have a chance. On May 6th we will be going on a MMIWG march to raise awareness within our community. There will be poster making in Rachel's space at lunch every Tuesday and Thursday from now until May 6th with the exception of this Thursday.

Bluenose Marathon Youth Run
Any students who are interested in participating in the Bluenose Marathon Youth Run on Saturday May 18th are asked to see Mrs. Carter before May 2nd to apply for a bursary for a free registration code.

Leadership
There will be a leadership meeting this Friday, April 26th, at 11:35 in Mme Chiasson’s room. Please bring your lunch.
