AN IMPORTANT REMINDER TO ALL GRADE 7 AND 8 STUDENTS WHO WILL ATTENDING ASTRAL DRIVE JUNIOR HIGH NEXT YEAR TO BRING IN THEIR SCHOOL REGISTRATION FORMS AND GIVE THEM TO YOUR HOMEROOM TEACHERS ASAP. 

A student lost their white binder; if you find it, please bring it to the office.

Intramurals this week will be:

Today 3 courts badminton for grades 8 and 9 only; Thursday 2 courts badminton and 1 court basketball; Friday 3 courts badminton. 

Mr. Archer is collecting money for the March 1^st ski and snowboard trip; trip is full. 

Mr. Saleski will be accepting clothing orders until the end of the day today. 

Open gym this Thursday will be for grade 7's and 8's.  6-7:30pm.

Last night, 8 students from Astral Drive took part in the Lyons Club "Speak Out" at the Cole Harbour Fire Hall.  Each speaker presented their topic with great poise and clarity.  Dealing with a wide range of topics such as:  Euthanasia, Teen Mental Health and the Stopping of On-line Piracy on the Internet - our students impressed the judges and all in attendance.

The 3 top winners were:

Jordane Pouline - 3rd Place - Euthanisia

Holly Inglis  - 2nd Place- Body Image

Marin Hogan -  1st Place - Violence in Society

Marin will now go to the Regional competition at the end of March!  Congratulations to all of the students who proudly represented ADJH and good luck to Marin as she moves to the next round!

ATHLETICS & CLUBS 

Intramurals this week will be:

Tuesday and Thursday 2 courts badminton and 1 court basketball; Wednesday 3 courts badminton for grades 8 and 9 only; Friday 3 courts badminton. 

The Cole Harbour Peewee AA and AAA teams travelled to Quebec City for the Annual Quebec International Hockey Tournament.  Both teams won gold in their divisions beating teams from France, Finland, Czech Republic, USA and Canada.  Congratulations to peewee AA and AAA teams. 

The girls basketball team lost in the quarter final game yesterday against Ross Road.  Great-close game!  Congratulations on coming in 3^rd place.  Please return your jerseys to Mr. Phee or Ms. U. 

Grade 8 Badminton team practice Wed Morning at 7:15am. 

Mr. Archer is collecting money for the March 1^st ski and snowboard trip.  Please note the trip is now FULL! 

Mr. Saleski will be accepting clothing orders until Wednesday, February 22nd.

Just a reminder of the “February Have a Heart Canfar Fundraising Campaign”!  This campaign is about the goal of ending AIDS through research and will take place today at lunchtime outside the Main office.  Give a donation and get some gum, a heart-a-gram, a red ribbon and a pamphlet.

A very important message from the Guidance office – we have to respect the privacy and confidentiality of students who come to see Mr. Zelios and Mr. Ransome.  No students are allowed in the outside area of the Guidance office without permission from Mr. Ransome or Mr. Zelios especially when Mr. Ransome or Mr. Zelios are in classes.  Thank you for your co-operation.
